Facelifts are one of the most well-known facial surgeries, offering patients a way to eliminate signs of aging and rejuvenate the appearance. Layton Aesthetic Plastic Surgery offers facelift procedures to men and women living in Kerrville, Houston, Sugar Land, and the surrounding communities of Texas.
What is a Facelift?
A facelift, also called a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that targets the cheeks, jowls, and neck to improve visible signs of aging in the face. A facelift can also treat excess skin and fat under the chin and jaw. Dr. Layton is proud to specialize in the facelift procedure, and is able to offer this as an in-office procedure with the use of local anesthesia. Facelift procedures usually require general anesthesia and are performed in a surgical facility. With Dr. Layton’s technique, patients can accelerate their treatment time and reduce the cost of treatment. We offer both traditional and mini facelifts to help patients achieve their cosmetic goals.
How Much Does a Facelift Cost?
The cost of a facelift can vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary to produce your desired results. A full facelift typically ranges from $13,900 to $14,800, while a mini facelift ranges from $8,800 to $9,000. During your consultation, Dr. Layton will be able to provide you with a treatment plan that matches your specific needs. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of your treatment. We also offer financing services to help make this and other treatments more affordable.
What is a Mini Facelift?
A mini facelift is a less-invasive facelift procedure that targets signs of aging in the lower face. This can be a great solution for patients who are looking to achieve more subtle results or do not want the downtime associated with a full facelift. As a less invasive technique, the mini facelift requires fewer and smaller incisions and will have a shorter recovery period.
What is the Facelift Procedure Like?
During the facelift procedure, incisions are made in the hairline and around the ears where they will be well-hidden. Through these incisions, excess skin is removed to eliminate wrinkles and sagging skin. Then, the remaining skin will be re-draped to produce a firmer, more youthful appearance. The incisions will be sutured and will be in place for approximately two weeks after the procedure.
What Can I Expect After a Facelift?
Pain is minimal with a facelift, and swelling and bruising are generally minor. Still, patients may need to take a week or longer off of work and other activities while they recover from surgery. Most patients take pain medication the first day or two following surgery and then rely on Motrin or Advil thereafter. We recommend that our patients take Arnica Montana (vitamin K) two days prior to surgery and one week following surgery to help with swelling. Most patients experience very little bruising after a facelift. A compression facial wrap is worn at all times for the first week following surgery. The facial compression garment is only worn at night during the second- week post-surgery.
