Liposuction Service Houston
Liposuction of the abdomen can be done as the only restorative procedure of the abdomen or in combination with a Mini-Tummy Tuck. Liposuction is certainly less invasive with a shorter recovery time than a Tummy Tuck but also has less dramatic results. As a solitary abdominal restoration procedure, it is best for patients that have good muscle tone, small excess skin with good skin tone and no lap over. Others may opt for Liposuction as an alternative to a Tummy Tuck (being aware of the limitations of results) because they do not want to accept the longer incision or longer recovery. In the right patient, liposuction can be a powerful tool for restoration of the abdomen. Liposuction is safe and can usually be performed in the office under local anesthesia.
THE PROCEDURE – Liposuction Houston
You will have the choice of general anesthesia or local anesthesia for the procedure. This depends on your desires as well whether any other procedures are being performed. Whether in the office or at the surgery center, you will be marked by Dr. Layton before the procedure and given the opportunity to ask any questions.
Liposuction is performed through small, inconspicuous incisions. First, sterile liquid solution is infused to reduce pain and bleeding and to suspend the fat for easier removal. Then a thin hollow tube, or cannula, is inserted through these incisions to loosen excess fat between the skin and muscle using a back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula. We use Nutational Infrasonic or Tickle Lipo because of the ease of use and the viability of the fat cells harvested.
